3 Clothing Trends That Are Here To Stay

With fashion trends changing every season, keeping up can be difficult and costly. Well, what if we told you that you most likely own some of the new year trends? But don’t hesitate to keep shopping these styles ‘cause they’re here to stay in 2018.

Fringe

As mentioned in the Improper Bostonian, the Barker Bell Sweater is a cozy must-have. Better yet, its fringe trim is a look to stay and will remain as a major SS 2018 trend. Rich in abundance, fringe was seen everywhere from dresses to coats, from Alexander Wang to Dior, and from luxe to modern fabrics. So basically it makes the Barker Bell sweater the perfect wardrobe piece for Fall to Spring transition. Since the details already create a fun, fashion-forward look, pairing it with simple pieces keeps it effortless.

Glitz & Glamour

Glamour update: sequins, glitter, glitz & glam is here to slay. This trend is right up a LIT chick’s ally. This season’s evening wear is dedicated to the work hard, play hard attitude. The woman who radiates elegance and independence, and doesn’t miss cocktails at five. So bring out the heels and dust them off because a celebration of life is always a good excuse. The revival of sequins and glitter took a real shift this season, as seen on designers like Saint Laurent, Erdem, Maison Margiela and more. The Randi Combo dress is the perfect example of eye candy in the highest form. So keep your extra attitude and trendy little pieces this season.

Chokers

In a time of political upheaval, designers have reached new levels of outspokenness in their collections. With the use of slashed fabrics and logo tee’s, a representation of resistance was the main idea behind collections on the runway. Rebel punk took over the runway with designers like Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and more. In tune with this look, chokers are an accessory staple for the new year…. only bolder. Pairing multiple chokers will take you to the next level of edge. So instead of retiring, just keep acquiring.

Resort Fashion Trends to Watch Out For in 2018

It may be cold in New England but we’re already counting down the days until spring break! It’s all about escaping the tundra and heading south to warm weather, sunshine, crystal clear waters and white sand beaches. The best part about getting ready for a resort vacation is shopping for the latest beach-going apparel at LIT Boutique! Take a sneak peak at what this year’s resort fashion trends will look like…

Flowy Culottes

Culottes are wide-legged pants usually ending mid-calf so you can catch a refreshing breeze at the beach or on the boardwalk while still being covered up. Their flowy nature ensures that you’re comfortable all day long and are ready to stroll right from the beach to the oceanside restaurant patio. Pair culottes such as the Marina Pants with a crop top and this may be your most worn outfit of your spring break.

Crochet Tops

We’ve never been so happy for the return of crop tops to the fashion world simply because they are the best article of clothing to wear while somewhere tropical. They’re stylish, not too revealing, and most of all keep you nice and cool while you’re exploring — and did we mention they pair perfectly with culottes? Crochet tops like the Coco Top from Lost + Wander provide a beachy boho vibe while still keeping things simple for your resort look.

Sheer Florals

Want to show a bit of skin while still remaining covered up? Sheer fabric statement pieces are your go-to solution. Go ahead and show off that cute bandeau or bralette underneith your new Clemin Embroidery Floral Top. Sheer florals are flirty, chic and lightweight — perfect for your resort vacation. At LIT Boutique, we love pairing sheer tops with our flowy culottes!

How To Dress To Impress For Your New Years Party

Have a New Years party to attend this year? It’s time to pull out all the stops and dress to impress! Our professional fashion gurus are here to make sure you’re turning heads all night long whenever you walk into a room. At LIT Boutique, you’ll find sultry cocktail dresses, chic tops, and shoes that will make you feel like a rock star. So step into our office and let’s get to work on your New Years outfit…

Choose a Unique Fabric

This year it’s all about velvet — and who doesn’t love running their hands all over a smooth velvety dress, top, or romper? Not to mention the fabric itself will keep you warm while you’re bar hopping on New Years. The best way to wear velvet is accompanying it with delicate gold jewelry and strappy stilettos.

Add Some Glitter and Shine

Go big or go home when it comes to New Years Eve party jewelry. Whether it’s silver, gold, or rose gold, try to push the envelope in terms of what you usually wear to the office or on date night. Chunky chokers or bracelets and delicate layered necklaces are a popular choice this year for holiday parties.

Like this look? Accompany it with the Triple Fever Disco Bracelet in Rose Gold or the Partial Eclipse Earrings.

Bundle Up in Warm Outerwear Accessories

You’re going to be waiting in long lines this New Years Eve, so it’s best to try and stay as warm as possible. Lucky for you, LIT Boutique has some great outerwear accessories that not only keep you cozy but also look amazing and don’t add any bulk to your outfit. Choose anything from knit scarves and matching knit hats to beautiful faux leather gloves and faux fur scarves.

LIT Boutique Closes OutLIT Store Location

LIT Boutique, a Boston-based women’s fashion boutique, announced the permanent closing of their OutLIT location due to building renovations. As a result of the building’s upcoming remodel, the entire Warehouse will be on sale now until October 31st.

The OutLIT location, at 53 Hereford Street, originally started out as a six month pop up that turned into a permanent store location for three successful years. After a recent announcement from the building’s landlord regarding upcoming renovations, the boutique has decided to close one of their four locations. The building renovations will be a part of Boston’s many works in progress and will present job opportunities when completed.

Owner of LIT Boutique, Nehal Shah, stated, “We are proud to see the city’s growth that continuously expands and creates new opportunities for its residents.”

As a result, LIT Boutique will be offering every item at the Warehouse on sale from now until October 31st. It will be the first time in the clothing company’s history that every item in store will be marked down. This will be a great opportunity for shoppers to take advantage of before the approach of the holiday season. Other options are available to shoppers as LIT Boutique still offers three other store locations – on Hanover Street and Newbury Street in Boston MA, and Congress Street in Portsmouth NH – as well as their online store, litboutique.com.

“We’re excited to see the outcome and opportunity that lies ahead for this historic Boston neighborhood as the renovation is completed,” Shah said.

Fall Warehouse Sale at LIT Boutique’s OutLIT Location

Did someone say sale?

OutLIT: It’s like Black Friday without the crowd.

We know October can be spooky enough, and we don’t want to spook your wallet too. Join us the 6th through the 8th of October from 11am-6pm at our OutLIT location at 53 Hereford Street in Boston for our Warehouse Sale! With items starting at $8, it only makes sense to get a head start on all your cold weather essentials…. or your gossip girl Halloween costume!

Fall is officially upon us, which means fashion girls are tingling on the inside. Unless I’m just really weird. I cancelled plans with my boyfriend when I heard. We can get lunch anytime, right?! But a sale… a sale isn’t forever. He didn’t quite understand, but he’s a little clothes minded when it comes to the fashion industry.

Fall has a few other meanings besides tripping in Dolce Vita’s. To a LIT babe, it means embracing nature’s beauty, hayrides, apple picking, pumpkin sipping, and you guessed it… shopping. Well do you really expect her to wear a flowy dress on a chilly night? A warm cocktail can only help so much, and besides keeping warm isn’t the fun part, it’s the styling! It’s the infinite possibilities of layers and cardigans to create your look.

So what should you expect at the Warehouse Sale? Some booties and boots, jackets and coats, scarves and gloves, and the latest fall and winter styles. Oh, and probably some positive vibes. Cause buying it on sale is basically making money, right?
