HAPPY EARTH DAY: CELEBRATING SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Earth Day is April 22, and it’s an important time to reflect on each of our impact on this beautiful planet.
To honor this occasion, we want to highlight the brands we carry who have sustainable practices embedded into their clothing production. This is an area we’re deeply passionate about at LIT, as we’re conscious that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries on this planet -- but at the same time, it’s one of the spaces with the most potential for positive change, if we source and manufacture clothing with sustainability in mind
So we sincerely applaud brands who strive to make a difference in this world- no matter how big or small that may be.
Here are a few brands taking strides in sustainability that we love!
LACK OF COLOR
Lack of Color uses sustainably grown straw and palm for their hats which they replenish and regrow. They use recycled materials for their shipping material and tags. FOR LOVE AND LEMONS
For Love of Lemons created a “sustainability is beautiful” line which is composed of pieces made with up to 100% recycled materials. Many pieces we carry at LIT come straight from this line, including the beautiful Petal Tank Dress. You can look like a total babe while doing good for the planet!

FREE PEOPLE
Free People has made big strides towards sustainability. They have created several initiatives, such as the Free People Bag Program, which diverted 350,000 bags from landfills in 2020.
They also sell sustainable products, preloved vintage, and donate to National Parks. Lucky for you, we have to-die-for FP pieces at LIT in store and online.
