SPRING & SUMMER 2021 RUNWAY TRENDS
Even though it may still be freezing, that doesn’t mean we can’t start preparing for the warmer months ahead! Why not start planning your dream spring and summer closet now so that you’re ready to go as soon as the temperatures start rising? Designer runways are one of the most influential sources in determining what’s hot and what’s not. After the Spring/Summer 2021 runways, we wanted to share with you some of the most prominent trends so that you can add them to your closet.
DIGNIFIED IN WIDE LEG PANTS
First up is wide leg pants. Although in more recent years the trending fits of jeans have become more relaxed, this runway season showcased an even wider leg. Designers like Chanel and Balenciaga both had models strutting with wide leg pants. Whether you choose a wide leg trouser or a wide leg jean, you can style these pants with tighter crop tops for a more feminine look, or an oversized tee for an edgier look.
DRESS IT UP IN MAXI DRESSES
In addition to the comfort of wide leg pants, flowy maxi dresses were also hot on the runway this season. Designers for sure were inspired by the many months of sweatpants we have been enduring, and aren’t looking to jump back into super tight or restrictive pieces again. A flowy maxi dress is a necessity for your spring and summer wardrobe: they can be dressed up or down so easily that you’ll be wanting to wear your flowy maxi dress for every occasion!
STUNNING MODERN CUTOUTS
Lastly, cutouts were all the rage this season. Cutouts turn more modest looks into something daring and fun with little glimpses of skin. Whether it is a dress that exposes peeks of your midriff, a top with a wide cutout back, or slitted sweatpants, cutouts make any look more interesting. Thanks to designers such as Prada and Fendi, cutout pieces will be a staple in closets this spring and summer.
