3 Clothing Trends That Are Here To Stay

With fashion trends changing every season, keeping up can be difficult and costly. Well, what if we told you that you most likely own some of the new year trends? But don’t hesitate to keep shopping these styles ‘cause they’re here to stay in 2018.

Fringe

As mentioned in the Improper Bostonian, the Barker Bell Sweater is a cozy must-have. Better yet, its fringe trim is a look to stay and will remain as a major SS 2018 trend. Rich in abundance, fringe was seen everywhere from dresses to coats, from Alexander Wang to Dior, and from luxe to modern fabrics. So basically it makes the Barker Bell sweater the perfect wardrobe piece for Fall to Spring transition. Since the details already create a fun, fashion-forward look, pairing it with simple pieces keeps it effortless.

Glitz & Glamour

Glamour update: sequins, glitter, glitz & glam is here to slay. This trend is right up a LIT chick’s ally. This season’s evening wear is dedicated to the work hard, play hard attitude. The woman who radiates elegance and independence, and doesn’t miss cocktails at five. So bring out the heels and dust them off because a celebration of life is always a good excuse. The revival of sequins and glitter took a real shift this season, as seen on designers like Saint Laurent, Erdem, Maison Margiela and more. The Randi Combo dress is the perfect example of eye candy in the highest form. So keep your extra attitude and trendy little pieces this season.

Chokers

In a time of political upheaval, designers have reached new levels of outspokenness in their collections. With the use of slashed fabrics and logo tee’s, a representation of resistance was the main idea behind collections on the runway. Rebel punk took over the runway with designers like Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and more. In tune with this look, chokers are an accessory staple for the new year…. only bolder. Pairing multiple chokers will take you to the next level of edge. So instead of retiring, just keep acquiring.

Resort Fashion Trends to Watch Out For in 2018

It may be cold in New England but we’re already counting down the days until spring break! It’s all about escaping the tundra and heading south to warm weather, sunshine, crystal clear waters and white sand beaches. The best part about getting ready for a resort vacation is shopping for the latest beach-going apparel at LIT Boutique! Take a sneak peak at what this year’s resort fashion trends will look like…

Flowy Culottes

Culottes are wide-legged pants usually ending mid-calf so you can catch a refreshing breeze at the beach or on the boardwalk while still being covered up. Their flowy nature ensures that you’re comfortable all day long and are ready to stroll right from the beach to the oceanside restaurant patio. Pair culottes such as the Marina Pants with a crop top and this may be your most worn outfit of your spring break.

Crochet Tops

We’ve never been so happy for the return of crop tops to the fashion world simply because they are the best article of clothing to wear while somewhere tropical. They’re stylish, not too revealing, and most of all keep you nice and cool while you’re exploring — and did we mention they pair perfectly with culottes? Crochet tops like the Coco Top from Lost + Wander provide a beachy boho vibe while still keeping things simple for your resort look.

Sheer Florals

Want to show a bit of skin while still remaining covered up? Sheer fabric statement pieces are your go-to solution. Go ahead and show off that cute bandeau or bralette underneith your new Clemin Embroidery Floral Top. Sheer florals are flirty, chic and lightweight — perfect for your resort vacation. At LIT Boutique, we love pairing sheer tops with our flowy culottes!

Patriot’s Win, Miss MA USA Puts Up Big Points on Fashion Scoreboard

Last night history was made. Tom Brady does what no other quarterback in the history of the NFL has done before — and that’s bring home FIVE Superbowl Championship titles. The New England Patriots, originally off to a rough start the first half of the game, ended up looking composed and put together to solidify a win in the NFL’s first ever Superbowl overtime.

juliascaparottiBut it wasn’t just the Pats who looked amazing last night. Big name stars such as DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Fergie and Nick Cannon lit up the dance floor at Maxim’s Big Game Party 2017. The stage was set at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land and presented by Attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry and produced by Karma Internatonal.

The best parties with the best cocktails will obviously attract the best looking women, one of whom is Massachusetts’s own Julia Scaparotti (@julia_scaparotti). A local Bostonian and die-hard New England Patriot’s fan, Scaparotti — who won Miss MA USA 2017 — looked stunning in Keepsake’s Lost Lover Playsuit. The Maxim party-goer paired her black ruffle playsuit with a small diamond bejeweled purse, diamond-studded choker necklace and cheetah-print heels.
