HOW TO TAKE THE PERFECT THANKSGIVING INSTA PIC
Let's be real here... did Thanksgiving even happen if you didn't get the most perfect thanksgiving Instagram pic?!! Don’t let another holiday go by without taking a 10 out of 10 holiday photo. Especially if you won’t get to be in person with all your family and friends this year, sharing pictures — yes, even a fun solo shot! — can help spread the love and share memories with loved ones near and far.
There are so many opportunities during a holiday like this and we are here to guide you through your next insta photo shoot. You need the perfect setting, outfit and lighting for this and we are here to help!
A FESTIVE BACKGROUND
First thing’s first: scope out a place with decorations. Your photo will be the best if there is something festive in the background of it. This could be a photo of you in front of the steps of the house next to the outdoor décor. If outside is not a good option, look for a setup inside for a wall with hanging decorations, or even in front of the table with all the Thanksgiving food! One of our personal faves is sealing in the satisfaction of cooking something delicious by snapping a quick pic.
If you don't have any good backgrounds available for you, no worries, you can easily make something yourself. Look around the house for Thanksgiving colors, turkey decorations, candles, or even some leaves. Set them on a table behind you or on the ground to incorporate festive items.
THE PERFECT OUTFIT
Don't worry we have not forgotten the most important part…an amazing Thanksgiving outfit! We don't know about all of you, but finding the cutest outfit is one of our favorite parts of the holidays. This time of year is perfect for a cozy sweater and some jeans. You can even get a little fancier and do a nice Fall dress. Any of these options will look so cute in a pic! Throw on some heeled booties and you are ready to model for the perfect picture. If it’s a little chilly out then you should complement your look with a nice jacket that will add extra detail to your pic and layers to your look. The best part about this is that you can personalize any look and have it match your style. This will also have the insta pic show your own unique look! Now get out your favorite pieces this season and start planning for the big day!
LIGHTING IS EVERYTHING
In order to create the perfect Thanksgiving picture, you need the perfect lighting! When you are looking for a background to use, also think about the lights near it. Anything near a window will give your GREAT results. Here at LIT, this is our personal favorite spot. Be sure to avoid standing directly in front of the window, but facing away from it in order to get the light directly on you. If a window is not available, outside is another great choice. Natural lighting can be the best option.

You can even ask a family member to jump in the photo with you to make to things fun (don’t forget the social distance though).
