4 WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR ENERGY FOR 2021
Over the past several months, our TikTok For You page has been filled with mindfulness coaches, sharing wisdom for how to navigate difficult times and be intentional with your energy in 2021. I know what you’re thinking — sounds a little out-there, right? We thought so too… at first.
If you’re skeptical about manifestation and spiritual practices, we don’t blame you. We’ve been there. But the “a-ha” moment for us came when we realized that manifestation, and tapping into your energy, is just another tactic to help achieve your goals. And contrary to what you might think, a lot of manifestation and energy-boosting practices are rooted in tangible activities and practices — in other words, they allow you to play an active role in your own growth, rather than leaving it up to the universe.
Let me be the first to tell you: we’re hooked. If your interest is piqued too, here are a few of our favorite, new-found manifestation and energy-boosting activities to help you on the path to your goals.
INTUITIVE STONES AND CRYSTALS
There’s a lot of buzz (literally and figuratively) around intuitive stones and crystals. The idea here is that certain gemstones contain natural energies, and having them in your proximity (or on your body in the form of cute jewelry!) can help you feel more grounded, navigate change, heal from challenges, or even give you an energy boost when you’re feeling low.

MANIFESTATION JOURNALING
Another trend that’s all the rage is active manifestation: thinking about a goal you have, and putting yourself in the right mindset to move toward it. They say that writing something down makes it more real — in fact, studies have shown that when you write down your goals, you’re more likely to achieve them. Manifestation journaling follows a similar rationale.
Start by thinking of a goal you want to achieve. Maybe you want to land that promotion within 6 months, or get your dream job in the next year. In the morning after waking up, write it down a few times. Revisit your journal in the afternoon and write it a few more times. And, for good measure, seal it in a few times before bed.
The key is to phrase your goal as if you’ve already achieved it. For example, instead of writing “I want the promotion,” try phrasing like “I will be promoted” or “I am getting promoted because I deserve it.” Convincing your mind is half the battle, but by writing it out daily, you’ll be able to visualize your goal and keep it constantly on your mind. I’m not going to lie, this one has worked some legitimate magic for some of us at LIT. Trust us, it’s worth trying!
MINDFUL MOVEMENT: YOGA & MEDITATION
If there’s one thing we’ve learned in the last year, it’s that mental health is just as important as physical health. We love when we can bring the two together, too. From a mindfulness mindset, yoga and meditation are two amazing practices to help focus on your intentions, and give your mind a chance to seal them in.
Many yoga classes and meditation sessions start with just that: a prompt to think about a goal you have, either for that current moment or bigger picture. During the class, you can return to that goal when your mind starts to wander, and use it as fuel to keep going. As a bonus, you’ll align your body with your mind — either through the strength training of yoga poses, or the relaxation of meditation — while giving yourself a chance to take a step back from your day-to-day activities and focus on YOU.

HOROSCOPES
There’s a reason why “what’s your sign?” is one of the oldest (and arguably most cringe-worthy) pick-up lines in the book. While it may not be your favorite conversation-starter on a date, your Zodiac sign can tell a lot about you. So can your daily horoscope. Horoscopes give you a peek at what’s in store for you, and what your energy will be like, based on astrology and your Zodiac sign as it’s positioned during a given time period.
If it sounds imprecise, that can sometimes be the beauty of it. Horoscopes give suggestions as to your opportunity to go for a new goal, or connect with new people, but they’re largely open to interpretation for the individual. Sometimes, checking your horoscope and seeing the virtual green-light — that now is a good time to go after a new project you’ve been considering, for example — can be the extra nudge you need to go for it.
