SLOPE-SIDE OUTFIT IDEAS

Calling all our ski-bunny babes and après ski enthusiasts: your time has arrived! Winter is in full swing, and while cold weather often gets a bad rep, this season brings with it new opportunities to socialize and get outside — preferably, slope side!

Now for the age-old question: what to wear? Whether you’re hitting the slopes, or planning to meet your crew for happy hour and apps after the fact — our favorite part, to be honest — here are a few must-have items for peak outfits (see what we did there?)

OUTERWEAR OPTIONS

Bundle up babe. While warmth may be top-of-mind for slope-side activities, that definitely does not mean you need to sacrifice style. In fact, some of this season’s hottest trends are in outwear itself.

If you want to channel the ski pros, or go for an outerwear look that flawlessly transitions from the slopes to slope-side drinks, go for a puffer jacket. For maximum warmth, opt for a longer parka with a fur-trimmed hood to spice things up. Or, try a cropped or fitted parka for a bold take on an old classic.

For those who want to break from the sea of puffers you’re likely to see on the slopes, faux fur is sure to make a statement. Again, you have your choice of lengths and styles — long teddy jackets, or short faux fur coats — in a range of patterns and colors. While we’ll never say no to neutrals, faux fur in colors like dusty pink and violet are having a moment. Don’t be afraid to try those out, if you want to stand out!

LEGGINGS & JOGGERS

Slope-side festivities are the perfect opportunity to show off the street style trend that’s totally taken over in recent months.

One of our favorite, go-to options are — you guessed it — faux leather leggings. Grab a pair in patent leather for an extra pop, or try leather joggers if you want to elevate a comfortable fit.

If sweats are more your vibe, choose a pair or set that make a statement. Sets in bright colors, and with bold statements, are super popular among celebs and hard-working women alike (shoutout to our work from home babes!) So, an investment in top-of-the-line sweats from brands like Boys Lie and Joah Brown will be well-worth it, for social events and everyday wear alike. Play around with cuts and styles that make you feel your best: for example, try a cropped sweatshirt with looser fitting joggers, or vice versa.

HATS TO TOP IT OFF

As far as accessories go, hats are some of our favorite. They’re a must-have to tie together your look, and give you another chance to make a statement… all while keeping you warm, obviously.

Beanies are big right now, especially in patterns like leopard, or in bright colors like neon pink. And in case you’ve somehow missed it on your Instagram feed, Boys Lie Beanies are an absolute must-have this year. They’re sold out basically everywhere, but don’t worry if you don’t have yours yet… we have a limited number left from a re-stock at LIT, so get yours to avoid serious FOMO.

Want ideas beyond the beanies? For a Sundance-inspired, trendy look, try a flat brim hat. This wool hat, with beautiful gold chain detailing, can take any outfit from standard to stand-out.

DON’T SLEEP ON SLOPE-SIDE ACCESSORIES

As you’re packing your bags for a day spent slope-side, you’ll want to bring a few things outside of your outfit. To maintain moisture even in the coldest of temps, try Bitch Stix Cocoa Butter. And, we all know a hydrated babe is a happy babe — so grab a fun water bottle that compliments your look! Finally, be sure to bring your shades — key for completing your outfit, and ensuring you’re ready for sunny, snowy days.

Even if winter athletics aren’t your thing, don’t sleep on wintry slope-side social events. They might just be your best chance to get out there, show off your winter wardrobe, and do so at a social distance. We’ll meet you at the après ski celebration!
